About Bold Coast Seafood

Bold Coast Seafood operates a 100,000 square foot facility on the working waterfront of Prospect Harbor, Maine, built around a deepwater dock, a buying station, refrigerated tanks capable of holding over 200,000 pounds of lobster and crab, a state of the art processing floor, office space, and a research lab. We supply customers with high quality seafood harvested from the cold, clean waters of Maine, and we are currently expanding into a new business line: crab processing.

We built this company on the belief that people do their best work when they feel good about where they work. We address problems directly, we expect people to bring solutions rather than just complaints, and we support each other, even on hard days. As we grow, we are looking for people who want to grow with us.

About the Role

Bold Coast Seafood is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility and equipment running as we grow. This role covers a wide range of mechanical and facility needs, from pumps and belts to cookers and fish distribution and sorting equipment. We are a fast-growing, live and processed seafood operation, so no two days look exactly the same.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn, grow and apply technical skills in a fast paced grwoing environment.  We need someone who can problem solve on the fly, adapt when priorities shift, and bring a resourceful, figure it out mindset to whatever comes up during the day.

We expect the scope of this role to grow along with the company. For the right person, with the right experience and a track record of reliability, there is real opportunity to take on more responsibility over time, including involvement in and oversight of safety practices for the maintenance and processing areas.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the pool pump and sewer pump systems.
  • Maintain and repair belts and conveyors used throughout the facility.
  • Maintain and repair the cooker and related processing equipment.
  • Support a wide range of fish distribution, sorting, and processing equipment across the facility.
  • Handle general facility upkeep and repairs as needed, and respond quickly when something breaks down unexpectedly.
  • Work with leadership on priorities, while managing your own day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Bring a positive, problem-solving mindset to a role where the equipment, priorities, and scope will keep evolving as the company grows.
  • As experience grows, take on greater involvement in and oversight of safety practices for the maintenance and processing areas.

What We're Looking For

  • General mechanical ability and a solid understanding of how equipment works.
  • A willingness to learn what you do not already know, since our equipment and processes will keep evolving as we grow.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through, while also being comfortable working independently once you know the job.
  • A problem-solving, resourceful mindset, someone who can figure things out and improvise a fix when something breaks unexpectedly.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, since priorities can shift quickly in a live product environment.
  • A positive, solution-oriented attitude that fits our culture of bringing ideas forward instead of just flagging problems.
  • Ability to work full time, 5 days per week, 8 to 9 hour shifts, with some flexibility based on operational needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a live, wet, and physically demanding seafood processing environment.
  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working around machinery, water, and varying temperatures, including outdoor conditions.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (currently through Aetna).
  • Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), per Maine state requirements.
  • A growing company where you can see the direct impact of your work and help shape processes as we scale.

Bold Coast Seafood is an equal opportunity employer.
